The 2019 FMCA Rally, “Peachy in Perry” Starts Today!
Hurray! It’s finally here – the 2019 FMCA Rally has begun at the Georgia National Fairgrounds, just 7 miles north of Twin Oaks – and we are FULL. This event is one of the biggest to come to our area and we just love it! Everything “RV” is addressed, discussed and admired at this gigantic event that plays host to over 5,000 attendees over three days. Tickets to events are still available, and you can always just come for the day to learn, explore and make friends!
Check out this list of fun things to do and see at the 2019 FMCA Rally [taken from the website]:
Expect great entertainment, and lots of it during the Perry convention. Not only will we have four nights of terrific entertainment, but they will keep you humming throughout the day with toe-tapping music to start your day at coffee hour and mid-day acts that are sure to keep a bounce in your step and a smile on your face. For many attendees, the primary reason they come to FMCA conventions is for the learning opportunities available through the seminar program. Where else can you find so much information available in one place? Throughout the 2019 FMCA Rally four-day event, industry experts, manufacturer representatives, and service providers convey the latest information about RVs and the traveling lifestyle. The seminar line-up will be updated regularly on this site, and a full seminar schedule will be available in February. CLICK HERE to view the seminar line-up.
New this year is the [already sold out] RV Basics workshop. In two-and-a-half days you’ll get acquainted (or re-acquainted) with your RV’s operation and systems. RV Basics is conveniently scheduled right before each FMCA International Convention & RV Expo. Get easy how-tos and instruction to keep RV adventures in your motorhome or trailer safe and trouble-free.
PLUS: You may be able to save on your insurance policy upon completion of the course. FMCA members and non-members are welcome to sign up for this popular workshop. If you missed it, make sure you watch for it next year and get a ticket early!
Can you think of a better place to meet other RVers who share your interests than the 2019 FMCA Rally and convention? Thousands of people who enjoy the traveling lifestyle with a thirst to see and do new things all in one place.
In the lovely town of Perry, GA you will have all sorts of opportunities to get together with others. From the informal parking lot happy hours to the planned area gatherings and other social events, have a great time with old friends and make new ones during your stay.
And my personal favorite is the FMCA Supersized Book Club, where everyone is reading and discussing a great book! The current one is “The Cracker Queen: A Memoir of a Jagged, Joyful Life” by Lauretta Hannon.
“A poignant memoir of life on the wrong side of the tracks-which was a SIBA bestseller in hardcover-with a colorful cast of misfits, plenty of belly laughs, and lessons for finding joy in spite of hardship.”
“Move over, Sweet Potato Queens [another favorite book of mine]. Thanks to Lauretta Hannon, the Cracker Queens are finally having their say. From her wildly popular NPR segments to her colorful one-woman show, Hannon is showing the world a different kind of Southern girl-a strong, authentic, fearless, flawed, resourceful, and sometimes outrageous woman-the anti-Southern Belle.”
“The Cracker Queen takes readers from backwater Georgia to Savannah’s most eccentric neighborhoods for a wild ride featuring a distinctly dysfunctional family and a lively crew of hellions, heroines, bad seeds, and renegades. Full of warmth, outrageous wit, and world-class storytelling, The Cracker Queen is a celebration of living out loud, finding humor in desperate situations, and loving life to death.”
Have fun! And if you missed this one, please put a note on your calendar to plan to attend next year – this is a really great event!
